In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Anderson Housing Authority (AHA) will implement its Emergency Preparedness Plan, effective March 18, 2020. Public access to the AHA office is closed until further notice. Please feel free to call us at 864-260-5120 or use our drop box for any communication.

AHA employees will continue to operate during regular business hours. You will be contacted by phone or mail for any re-certifications or necessary communication about your renewals. Please note that RENT must still be paid on time in accordance with your lease agreement.

Phone calls will be taken for an appointment to apply for Section 8 Housing Assistance in the City of Anderson. No walk-ins, voice mails, or transfer of calls will be accepted.

 

You must be 18 years of age or older to apply and only one application will be taken for each phone call.

Reasonable Accommodation – You may designate for someone else to make the phone call for you, but they must provide the required information.

Housing Choice Voucher Specialist

Section 8 Program

 

Nature of work includes technical and administrative work assisting with the coordination of the Housing Choice Voucher program in accordance with existing HUD regulations and guidelines for the Housing Authority of Anderson. Activities associated with the job include assisting with executing and maintaining leases between property owners and residents, calculating rents, maintaining data to support established utility allowances, conducting annual interviews with residents and assisting with the coordination of monthly payments to property owners.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with the electronic transmission of various HUD required reports and data. Job responsibilities require good organizational, interpersonal and decision making skills, knowledge of the Housing Choice Voucher program rules and regulations, good mathematical skills and dedicated attention to detail.

The Anderson Housing Authority has an excellent compensation package (depending on experience) including a matching 401K Plan and 100% paid BCBS Health Insurance.
